Unipeck of America's dried roasted waxworm product is an excellent food
source for your wild birds. This high quality,
natural
food product is a special treat that birds love and our
preservative-free and additive-free dried waxworms will
help keep your birds healthy as well. Great care has been
taken in raising these dried roasted waxworms to ensure an excellent, high quality nutritional and
dietetic food source for your birds.
Waxworms are the larval stage of the Greater Wax Moth (Galleria
mellonella). Waxworms are large, soft and easily digested
by wild birds.
Our beetles are on a strict diet of fresh cereal and
vegetables, so they are a safe food source for your bluebirds and
other birds as well.
High levels of protein, fat, and moisture make our roasted waxworms an
excellent, juicy food for many birds, including all members of the
thrush family as well as dunnocks and blackcaps. These juicy
morsels will prove very popular. Dried roasted waxworms are also
enjoyed by bluebirds as well as cardinals, orioles, robins,
thrushes, waxwings, blue jays, tanagers, titmice, warblers,
kinglets, and many other insect-eating birds as well.
Dried waxworms do not need refrigeration and offer an even
higher protein and energy content than live waxworms.
Waxworms are a primary food choice of bluebirds and our
dried roasted waxworms are an all-natural, high protein, high energy
waxworm product that your bluebirds will love. In
addition, our dried roasted waxworms are an outstanding food source for
sugar gliders and a variety of other reptiles.
Waxworms can be offered from just about any bird feeder and will
fit perfectly into our
Popoutz seed and mealworm feeders.
Most birds will eat waxworms right from a dish on the ground.
Dried roasted waxworms also work well with tray feeders, platform bird
feeders, and even our
Supper Dome Feeder!
Many non-seed-eating songbirds are declining in number because
of the loss of breeding habitats and lack of food. By
offering dried roasted waxworms to insect-eating birds, you will help to
ensure their survival in the wild.
Here's a Hot Tip from your friends at Unipeck!!
Are
you frustrated with not being able to get your supplies of live
mealworms? Add a dash of cold press extra virgin olive oil
to dried mealworms for re-hydration and they look "life like!"
Also, the cold press olive oil is tasteless, has lots of
anti-oxidants, plus amino acids, and never goes rancid.
But more important, cold press extra virgin olive oil is
expelled (unlike Canola oil) from the host organism. NOTE:
Please allow time for the birds to adjust - it might take a day
or two.
